Flower Farm Subscription - CSA

What is a CSA Flower Subscription and is it right for me?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

The Grown Kind is the first flower farm in Adelaide offering a flower subscription CSA. CSA stands for "Community Supported Agriculture." Members of the public purchase a subscription prior to the flowering season, helping the farm plan for the year ahead and pay for important infrastructure. As growing and all the investing, time etc is done before a single flower blooms.

CSA directly supports your local farmer, which in turn supports your local community and economy. You pay once at the beginning of the season, and receive beautiful, luscious bouquets from our farm all season long, as per your selected subscription.

When you join our flower CSA, you’re supporting our diverse farm ecosystem. You’re helping to feed bees and other pollinators in your neighbourhood, supporting your local family farm business, and keeping working agricultural land alive and beautiful. You’re also telling us you want something natural, local, and want to support small scale regenerative farming for our future.

Share the Risk / Reap the Reward

Crop insurance for small farms and flower farms doesn't really exist. Instead, we rely on our CSA members as our investors and our insurance. We take a "share the risk, reap the reward" approach. In months where we have extreme conditions, bouquets may be leaner. In months where we have an abundance, we share the bounty with our members. We find it all tends to even out in the end. While we always do our best to spoil our members, by purchasing the CSA you are agreeing to take on some risk. Please read our CSA Membership Agreement for more info. If anything major does happen, The Grown Kind will give you the choice of a refund or to donate the affected portion of your subscription.

Is a CSA Flower Subscription right for me?

We’re not offended, and neither should you be, but a CSA flower subscription isn’t for everyone. Here is a few questions to help you figure out if a CSA flower subscription is right for you.

Weekly commitment - we have multiple pick up locations across Adelaide. As your flowers need to be collected by you (or a loved one) weekly, it means you need to have the time in your schedule to make that happen. Pick up is on a Friday from 12pm and all day Saturday (closing time is store dependant)

Payment upfront - it may seem like a larger sum for flowers (we’ve tried to keep it as affordable as possible) but it still requires around $250 minimum up front.

Have a desire to support local, small scale organic farming - there is small risk involved with being a part of a CSA, so being passionate about supporting a small scale, local business is important. Without you, without your support my flower farm wouldn’t exist.

Enjoy local, chemical free flowers - seems a little silly, but really.. loving flowers in your home, loving gifting flowers, loving chemical free flowers in your life.

Decide that its a wonderful gift - A CSA flower subscription is an amazing gift. Instead of one bunch of flowers that will die after a week or two.. imagine 10 weeks or a whole season of flowers!? great gift from a loved one or a group of friends.
